Comprehending Comprehensible Input (CI): Some Observations

Abstract Most people who use the word ‘Latin’ as name of a language in antiquity (not Medieval or Neo-Latin therefore) seem unaware that Latin was continuum made up many different varieties, Classical (which they identify with Latin) being only one them. So when talk spoken mean Latin, no other variety from available is suitable to be spoken. This ironic on two counts. First, overwhelming majority native speakers did not speak at all.
